Hong Kong’s May Chow of Little Bao and Second Draft voted Asia’s Best Female Chef 2017

Chow tops poll after more than 300 food industry insiders and commentators in Asia cast their votes for the annual list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants

May Chow, chef and owner of restaurant Little Bao on Staunton Street in Hong Kong’s Central district (and one in Bangkok) and of Second Draft in Tai Hang, has been voted Asia’s Best Female Chef 2017, it was announced on Tuesday.

More than 300 chefs, restaurateurs, food lovers, journalists and bloggers based in Asia cast their votes for the award, as well as for the food and beverage establishments that make it onto the annual list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, the results of which will be released in Bangkok in February.

Chow, who graduated from Boston University with a degree in hotel management, worked at local restaurants such as Bo Innovation, the now-closed TBLS, and Yardbird, before opening Little Bao in 2013.
